(AP) — Foxconn Technology Group executives are in Wisconsin meeting with government officials.  State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos tweeted Wednesday that he and Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald met with the Taiwanese electronics giant's chairman, Young Liu, Vice Chairman Jay Lee and U.S. strategist Alan Yeung. (AP) — A Wisconsin fugitive is in custody after a hunter discovered him hiding in a makeshift bunker in the woods.   Thomas Nelson of Wausau noticed a bunker carved into an embankment on state land in the township of Ringle west of Wausau several months ago. MILWAUKEE (AP) — Wisconsin State Fair officials say this year's fair set a modern-day attendance record.  Organizers say 1.1 million people visited the 11-day fair that ended Sunday in Milwaukee.  In all, 1,130,575 people went through the gates at State Fair Park. 8-14-19 no injuries when dryer catches on fire in fdl apartment building

Fond du Lac firefighters rescued one person from a second story apartment unit following a fire in a dryer Tuesday afternoon.  Firefighters were called to 270 Grand Court for a report of a fire  in the 16 unit apartment building, and quickly removed the dryer from the building and extinguished the fire.  Firefighters rescued one person who was unable to get out on his own and evacuated the building.    After the building was ventilated all of the […]

8-14-19 open house for new fdl public safety training center

A  newly constructed Fond du Lac  Public Training Safety Center is officially up and running.  A ribbon cutting ceremony and public open house was held Tuesday afternoon for the new $4.5 million facility on  North Rolling Meadows Drive.  Police chief Bill Lamb up until now officers received firearms training twice a year.   He says the new facility enables officers to use the indoor shooting range every month.  Fond du Lac Fire Division […]

Fond du Lac’s newest  multi-purpose recreational trail is officially open to the public.    Ribbon cutting ceremonies were held Tuesday afternoon for the Archer Thomas Olsen Trail, located in Lakeside Park West.  The trail is a project of Leadership Fond du Lac’s Team Trailblazers.  Team member Rhoda Hinz says the trail can be used for walking, running, snow shoeing and even cross country skiing.  The trail was made possible by the Thomas and Christine […]
