8-18-19 waupun listed as one of safest communities in wisconsin

Waupun is listed as one of the safest cities in the state according to a new report.   The report compiled by  Backgroundchecks.org  lists Waupun the 16th safest city in Wisconsin, and the only community in Fond du lac County in the top 50.   Fond du Lac was number 62 on the list.  Cedarburg, Monroe, Grafton,  New Berlin and Mequon round out the top five safest cities in the state.   The  report was compiled using […]

8-27-19 fatal rollover crash-the latest

The Dodge County Sheriff says speed and alcohol appear to be factors in a fatal rollover crash Monday morning.   Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says a 26 year old Waupun man died when the car he was driving  veered off Highway 68 near Lakeland Road, struck a utility pole and rolled over.   This was the tenth traffic fatality on Dodge County roads this year.

8-27-19 investigators confirm spontaneous combustion started fire at downtown fdl bar

Investigators have confirmed that spontaneous combustion started a fire at a downtown Fond du lac bar early Monday morning.    Firefighters were called to the Top Shelf Bar at 88 South Main Street and found the sprinkler system had extinguished the fire.   Division Chief of Fire Prevention Troy Haase says investigators determined the fire started in a bucket of bar mop rags.  Haase says the sprinkler system had extinguished the fire before firefighters arrived.  He […]

8-27-19 dodge county huber walkaway arrested

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Huber inmate walk-away.   Thirty eight year old, Michael C. Gleesing,  was serving a 270 day sentence with Huber privileges for theft when he failed to report back to the jail.  Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says Gleesing was apprehended after the Sheriff's Office received a tip from the public.

A Waupun man has died in a rollover crash in Dodge County.  Early this morning  the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one vehicle  rollover crash on State Highway 68 near Lakeland Road in the Town of Trenton.  A  car operated by a 26 year old Waupun man and was traveling east on Highway  68 when it left the roadway, struck a utility pole and came to rest on its roof.  […]
