The Dodge County Sheriff says speed and alcohol appear to be factors in a fatal rollover crash Monday morning. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says a 26 year old Waupun man died when the car he was driving veered off Highway 68 near Lakeland Road, struck a utility pole and rolled over. This was the tenth traffic fatality on Dodge County roads this year.
Investigators have confirmed that spontaneous combustion started a fire at a downtown Fond du lac bar early Monday morning. Firefighters were called to the Top Shelf Bar at 88 South Main Street and found the sprinkler system had extinguished the fire. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Huber inmate walk-away. Thirty eight year old, Michael C. Gleesing, was serving a 270 day sentence with Huber privileges for theft when he failed to report back to the jail. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says Gleesing was apprehended after the Sheriff's Office received a tip from the public.
