8-24-19 beaver dam woman waives preliminary hearing in connection with fatal crash

A 23-year-old Beaver Dam woman has waived her preliminary hearing in connection with a crash that killed her boyfriend.  Cindy Lara Esparza is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.  Authorities say she drove her vehicle into the Beaver Dam River while she was allegedly intoxicated last spring.  Her boyfriend, Jared Frakes, died following the crash.  The charge carries a 25 year prison sentence and $100,000 fine.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Special interest groups favoring Democrats raised five times as much as their Republican counterparts from donors in Wisconsin over the first six months of the year.  That's according to a new analysis Friday by the government watchdog group the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign. EAU CLAIRE, Wis.
