8-23-19 planning underway for 2020 fdl county highway dept. budget

8-23-19 advocap homeless grant

ADVOCAP has been awarded  a rental assistance grant to help homeless people.  The two year, $854,000 grant will be used for homeless households in Fond du Lac, Green Lake and Winnebago counties.  The program offers short term rent subsidy vouchers to homeless people and those at risk of homelessness.

8-23-19 beaver dam man arrested following high speed chase

A man is in custody following a high speed chase in Beaver Dam following a domestic incident.  Shortly after 11pm Wednesday Beaver Dam police received a report of a domestic incident, and that an intoxicated man left the scene in a vehicle.  About a half hour later officers spotted  the suspect vehicle, and attempted to stop it.   The driver refused to  stop and fled at a high rate of speed, eventually traveling southbound on Grove […]

8-22-19 wi appeals court denies appeal of man convicted of killing toddler in fdl

A Wisconsin Appeals Court has denied a claim that an Illinois man was wrongly convicted of killing a toddler and severely injuring a second child at a Fond du Lac apartment complex.  The 2nd District Court of Appeals denied  Daniel Griffin's claim that it was the twin boys' mother who killed one,and  injured the  other, not him.  The 32 year old Griffin was sentenced   in 2017 to 65 years in prison […]

The Fond du Lac County Highway commissioner says the Highway 23 expansion project between Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties will make it much more safe for motorists.   Construction will begin next year on the Fond du Lac County portion of the project, which will include a number of interchanges and frontage roads, in addition to widening the highway to four lanes.    Several residents who live in the area expressed concern about some of those changes […]
