9-4-19 two people arrested for tossing puppies into fdl retention pond

A man and woman from Georgia have been arrested after tossing two puppies into a Fond du Lac retention pond.    Sunday evening Fond du Lac police were called to the retention pond  on W. Rolling Meadows Drive and S. Hickory Street for a report of two individuals who were seen throwing dogs into the retention pond in an aggressive manner. Officers were able to locate the two individuals involved and also spoke with witnesses, who stated the male suspect was seen spinning one of the dogs 360 degrees before throwing it 10 to 20 feet out into the water. The suspect was also seen lifting one of the dogs up over his head and throwing him into the pond. A 22-year-old male and a 20-year-old female from Georgia were arrested and taken into custody for Mistreatment of Animals and Party to the Crime of Mistreatment of Animals and taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail. The Fond du Lac Humane Society responded to the scene to care for the two dogs which appeared to be approximately 8-9 weeks old.
