Fond du Lac police continue to investigate after a starving dog was found in an empty Fond du Lac apartment over the weekend. Police found the dog in the apartment on South Hickory Road, and are now trying to determine who the dog’s owner is. Fond du Lac animal shelter manager, Renee Webb, says the emaciated Pit Bull is recovering a the Fond du Lac animal shelter. “The dog had absolutely no fat mass and no muscle mass, was having a very hard time staying up on his feet,” Webb told WFDL news. “His body had consumed all of the fat, all of the muscle and it was really just consuming itself as a means to try to stay alive.”

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
