9-5-19 waupun death investigation-the latest

todaySeptember 5, 2019

Waupun police are still being very careful in how they are describing their investigation into the death of an elderly Mayville woman.  Seventy five year old Carol Foreman died last week at a hospital after she was found August 24 in the basement of her grandson’s home in Waupun with severe head injuries.    Waupun police chief Scott Louden stops short of calling it a homicide investigation.  “Obviously it looks like this was not accidental,”  Louden told WFDL news.  “We’re looking at possible charges but collecting evidence, processing that evidence and making sure all those dots connect before we forward any charges to the DA.”  Louden says an autopsy has been completed and police are waiting for results of that.    He says other evidence has been sent to the state crime lab.  The victim’s grandson, 30 year old Gregory Spittle was charged last week with threatening a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct along with misdemeanor possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
