The Fond du Lac County District Attorney says he is still waiting for a report from the Waupun Police Department regarding their investigation into the death of a Mayville woman. Seventy five year old Carol Foreman died August 28 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah, four days after she was found in the basement of her grandson’s home in Waupun with severe head injuries. District attorney Eric Toney says a charging decision regarding the death will be made once Waupun police complete their investigation. “I know Waupun police are doing a really great job with the investigation and are making sure they cover all the bases to figure out what happened,” Toney told WFDL news. “When that’s done we’ll have a better idea, but there’s not a specific time-frame.” The victim’s grandson, 30 year old Gregory Spittle, is charged with threatening a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, along with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
