An Appleton man who led Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies on a 29 mile long chase on Interstate 41 with speeds up to 107 miles an hour has been bound over for trial. Ladonaven Brown waived his preliminary hearing Friday in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court. Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says deputies terminated the September 6 chase after getting the suspect vehicle’s license plate number. Brown is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on $5000 cash bail.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
