todaySeptember 23, 2019

The Fond du Lac city council may go to referendum to help pay for additional staffing for public safety.   Council president Brian Kolstad says the council will start evaluating fire and police staffing needs in January.  Kolstad says the council could decide next summer whether to put a referendum question on the 2020 presidential election ballot.  Kolstad says specific dollar amounts have not been discussed yet.  He says adding a million dollars to the city tax levy would ncrease the mill rate by 33 dollars for the owner of a $100,000 home.
