A Beaver Dam woman has been convicted of aiding a murderer. Thirty three year old Rebecca Wolc has been found guilty to Harboring/Aiding a Felon in Dodge County Court. The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and five years of extended supervision. A sentencing hearing has been set for January 16, 2020. According to a criminal complaint Wolc lied to police that Nigel Schultz was at her Beaver Dam apartment two days after Schultz had murdered Bradlee Gerke. Officers later learned that Wolc was also present at the residence in rural Ashippun when Schultz shot and killed Gerke. Schultz, was convicted of first degree intentional homicide last month.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
