Approximately 70 Agnesian HealthCare employees face relocation or job loss with the transfer of billing operations over the next year. Agnesian says the workers will be transitioned to service centers in Madison and St. Louis over the next 10 months to streamline services and reduce duplication. Hospital officials say they will work with affected employees to help them transition or find another position within Agnesian HealthCare or SSM Health. Patient billing service representatives will still be on site in Fond du Lac.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
