9-12-19 uw administration grows while faculty numbers decline

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The University of Wisconsin System's administration is growing while faculty numbers are declining.  The number of system employees categorized as "administration and academic leaders" grew by 53 positions, or 3.5%, between 2014 and 2017. The number of faculty members at the system's two- and four-year schools dropped by 491 positions, or about 7.7%, over the same period.  UW-Madison faculty numbers dropped by 80 positions, a 4% decline. 9-12-19 democrat introduces bills to pump more money into cwd fight

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Democratic legislator wants to spend millions of dollars to fight chronic wasting disease.  Rep. Katrina Shankland has introduced a package of bills that would allocate $2.2 million to expand cost-sharing for carcass-disposal dumpsters and kiosks where hunters can drop off deer for testing. 9-12-19 appleton man charged in connection with high speed chase in fdl county

An Appleton man has been charged in connection with a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County.  Ladonaven Brown made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance Wednesday.  Bail was set at $5000 cash.  Authorities say Brown led deputies on a 29 mile chase with speeds up to 107 miles an hour.   The chase happened shortly after 8:30pm last Friday when traffic was busy, and deputies decided to terminate the chase after getting […]

Strong thunderstorms were moving through our listening area this afternoon dumping heavy rain and packing strong winds.  Earlier this afternoon the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern Fond du Lac County.   Southern Wisconsin, including Dodge County, is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10pm.

9-11-19 fdl county public health officer urges residents to stop vaping

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer is urging people to stop vaping.   As of September 6, 2019, over 450 possible cases of lung illness associated with the use of e-cigarette  products have been  reported to CDC from 33 states. 9-11-19 vaping counterfeiter

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say a Wisconsin man is accused of manufacturing thousands of counterfeit vaping cartridges a day with THC oil for almost two years.  Kenosha County prosecutors say 20-year-old Tyler Huffhines had 10 employees to make cartridges that were packaged to look professionally done.  Authorities seized 188 pounds (85.28 kilograms) of marijuana, THC oil, and about $20,000.   Police arrested Huffhines Thursday.
