STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) — Attorneys have reached a plea deal for a former Wisconsin fugitive who hid out in a makeshift bunker for more than three years.  Forty-four-year-old Jeremiah Button was discovered in August living in a bunker powered by solar panels and a pedal generator. 9-20-19 chemical spill at fdl county cheese plant-the latest

Two  people were treated for non life-threatening injuries following a chlorine spill that forced the evacuation of a cheese plant in Fond du Lac County.   Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says the incident happened shortly before 8am Thursday at the Saputo Cheese plant near Alto.  Two employees who were switching chlorine cylinders were exposed to the chlorine and had difficulty breathing. The Fond du Lac city manager says the overall tax rate will be down in a proposed 2020 budget.   City manager Joe Moore presented the proposed budget at  a special city council meeting last night.  The budget does not include an additional ambulance crew, or six new positions as requested by the fire chief.   Moore says with revenue limits, the city can’t afford to do that at this time.  Top capital improvements […]

9-19-19 deadly house fire in fdl

Three people are dead following a fire that destroyed a Fond du Lac home.  Fire chief Pete O’Leary says the victims were found in a the group home at 613 South Military Road.  O'Leary told WFDL news the house was destroyed and that it appears the fire started on the porch.
