9-19-19 new state forest name proposed

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Department of Natural Resources wants to rename a state forest after a former Democratic governor.  DNR officials have proposed renaming the Peshtigo River State Forest to the Governor Earl Peshtigo State Forest after former Gov. 9-18-19 squirrel hunting fatality in dodge county

The DNR says a hunter was shot and killed by his brother while squirrel hunting in Dodge County.  The incident happened Tuesday on state property near Mud Lake which is near Reeseville.   The DNR says the two brothers were hunting squirrels, when the shooter, a 61 year old man, saw movement, shot and struck the victim, a 65 year old man.   The DNR is investigating the incident.

9-18-19 appleton shooting

APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a man who was fatally shot in Appleton.  The Outagamie County coroner's office and the Appleton Police Department identify the victim as 47-year-old Bobby Higgs of Green Bay.  Police say an autopsy confirmed that Higgs died of multiple gunshot wounds.   Officers responding to a disturbance involving several people in a basement early Sunday found Higgs' body. 9-18-19 fdl street closure

The Fond du Lac Department of Public Works  says a portion of Division Street will be closed this week.   Division Street between Algoma Street and Park Avenue will be closed beginning Wednesday, September 18 th and remain closed through the end of the day Thursday, September 19.  The closure is in place to allow city crews to make utility repairs and restoration.

9-18-19 governor evers approves new assistant da positions across state including fdl and dodge counties

Gov.
