The Fond du Lac Public Works Department says the West Division Street railroad crossing west of Brooke Street is closed this week. The closure is currently in place and the crossing is planned to reopen Friday, October 25. The railroad crossing is closed to allow Canadian National to make repairs at the railroad crossing.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
