10-23-19 climate change task force

todayOctober 22, 2019

An environmental representative on a new Climate Change Task Force says the state can have a major impact.   Clean Wisconsin’s  Amber Meyer Smith was named to the task force, created last week by Wisconsin governor Tony Evers.  “This is really great news for Wisconsin,”  Meyer-Smith told WFDL news.   “We have a long way to go and we don’t have a long time to do it in order to start addressing Wisconsin’s contributions to climate change.”   Lieutenant governor Mandela Barners will chair the task force that includes Republican and Democratic lawmakers and representatives of a broad cross section of the state’s agriculture, energy, business, health, education and environmental  interests.  Evers tasked the group to come up with recommendations to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change by August.
