10-17-19 second grader taken to hospital after vaping

FRANKLIN, Wis. (AP) — Suburban Milwaukee police say child protective services took a 7-year-old boy to the hospital after he was found vaping in a school classroom.  A police report in Franklin says the second-grader was discovered with a vaping device at Country Dale Elementary last week. 10-16-19 fdl county executive presents 2020 budget to county board

The Fond du Lac County executive says a proposed 2020 budget includes funding to hire several additional social workers. 10-16-19 uw la crosse student from fdl accused of vandalizing la crosse ymca

A UW La Crosse student from Fond du Lac accused of burglarizing and vandalizing the La Crosse YMCA has turned himself into police.   Nineteen year old Peyton Nett faces charges of criminal damage to property, burglary and disorderly conduct in connection with the October 11 incident.  According to a criminal complaint Nett had been drinking and told police he blacked out and doesn’t remember what happened.   Nett said he went to classes at UW-L, then […]

The Fond du Lac Fire Chief says ultimately Fond du Lac residents will have the final say on whether they feel  its worth paying more in taxes for additional public safety staffing.    The Fond du Lac city council will starting evaluating fire and police staffing needs in January.  Fire Chief Pete O’Leary has requested six additional firefighters/paramedics to man a new ambulance.    His request is not included in a proposed city budget.  […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin environmental officials say the state's air quality is improving.  According to the state Department of Natural Resources' 2019 Air Quality Trends Report, concentrations of most pollutants are continuing to decrease across the state.  Overall fine particle concentrations have dropped 35% statewide since 2002. (AP) — More than a quarter of University of Wisconsin-Madison undergraduate women who responded to a new survey say they've been sexually assaulted.  UW-Madison was one of 33 colleges that participated in the Association of American Universities survey this year.
