MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin legislators have passed a bill that would extend health insurance for immediate survivors of police officers and emergency medical workers killed in the line of duty.  The Assembly unanimously passed the measure Thursday and it now goes to Gov. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Vice President Mike Pence is set to visit a southeastern Wisconsin business founded by two Republican donors next week.  America First Policies, an organization that supports President Donald Trump's policies, said Thursday that Pence will visit Uline in Pleasant Prairie on Oct. 17. 10-11-19 fdl intersection closure

A major Fond du Lac intersection will be closed overnight Friday.  Starting at 8pm Friday the Johnson Street and Rolling Meadows Drive intersection will be closed and will remain closed until 6am Saturday.  The closure will allow the contractor to mill and pave the intersection.   If overnight weather conditions do not allow for paving operations the project will be rescheduled for overnight Sunday October 13.

10-11-19 fdl school district curriculum director resigning

The Fond du Lac School District is looking for a new Curriculum director.  Danica Lewis is stepping down effective November first.  Lewis abruptly submitted her letter of resignation this month.  She has worked in the district for eight years.   The school district did not say why Lewis is leaving.  The Fond du Lac School Board will vote to accept the resignation at their meeting Monday.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Assembly has passed a resolution supporting new F-35 fighter jets in Madison despite concerns about noise.  Defense officials are considering stationing two F-35 squadrons at Truax Field. The planes would replace the Wisconsin Air National Guard's aging F-16s.  But Truax neighbors are worried about noise from the jets. The Wisconsin Assembly has passed a rule change allowing for a disabled Democratic lawmaker to phone into meetings, as he requested nearly a year ago.  The affected lawmaker, Rep. Jimmy Anderson, voted against the changes Thursday. 10-10-19 garbage truck strikes, kills 9-year old boy on bike in sheboygan

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — Sheboygan police say a city garbage truck hit and killed a 9-year-old boy as he rode his bicycle.  The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Sheboygan Police Chief Christopher Domagalski says the truck was making a turn when it struck the boy, who was riding on a sidewalk.  The boy died at the scene. He was from Sheboygan.
