10-7-19 grocery store chain to pull tobacco products

Fond du Lac County is hosting a Warrior Summit this month to help veterans.  The event will be held October 18 at Marian University’s Stayer Center.  The Summit will feature presentations aimed toward veterans, professionals in mental health and social services, clergy leaders and community leaders.  Registration for the event is due by October 8.  You can register  at the CSI of Fond du Lac County website.

A man convicted of killing an 18-year-old woman nearly three decades ago has taken a related drug case to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.    Dennis Brantner is serving a 10-year prison term for strangling Berit Beck in 1990 in Fond du Lac County. WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say 16 people have been charged in a methamphetamine distribution operation in central Wisconsin.  The charges were announced Friday by U.S. Attorney Scott Blader in the Western District, the FBI, Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul and local officials.   A federal grand jury indicted 12 of the 16 people last month, including three individuals from St. Paul, Minnesota. 10-5-19 bond set at $1 million in wausau cemetery shooting

WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — Bond is set at $1 million for a Wisconsin man suspected of killing a woman and injuring two other people in a shooting at a cemetery.  The 64-year-old suspect from Schofield appeared in court Friday. 10-4-19 disoriented hunters rescued in eldorado marsh

Two duck hunters who became disoriented in the Eldorado Marsh were rescued with the help of a drone and a DNR warden in a kayak.  The hunters from Appleton and Neenah called the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning to report they were lost.  Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Chris Dobyns says the hunters were located using GPS coordinates and a Fond du Lac Police drone unit.  The […]

10-4-19 waupun water levels continue to recede

The Rock River in Waupun continues to recede following this week’s flood.   Waupun Emergency Management director B.J. DeMaa says the Fond du Lac Street corridor was reopened Thursday morning.  DeMaa says River Road is still closed, but all other roadways in the city are open.
