10-4-19 cd smith awarded two more contracts with foxconn

A Fond du Lac company has landed more work in the latest round of contract awards announced by Foxconn Technology Group.  CD Smith Construction has been awarded contracts for concrete slab on grade and slab on deck work and masonry work. The contracts are part of 16 additional awards announced totaling more than $83 million for construction work at the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park in southeast Wisconsin.

10-4-19 schnucks grocery chain to end tobacco sales

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Schnuck Markets Inc., one of the Midwest’s largest grocery store chains, will stop selling cigarettes, chewing tobacco and other tobacco products as of Jan. 1.  Suburban St. Louis-based Schnucks announced the move Thursday. Schnucks is the largest grocer in the St. Louis area and operates 115 stores overall in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa. 10-3-19 fdl man sentenced on federal weapons, drug charges

A Fond du Lac man has been sentenced to prison for federal firearms and drug charges.  Thirty eight year old Joshua Klein was sentenced to eight years and nine months in prison and five years extended supervision.  Authorities say Klein possessed with intent to deliver heroin and marijuana from his Fond du Lac residence and had multiple prior felony convictions, including unlawful firearm possession and drug trafficking.  Authorities say a co-conspirator, 46 […]

Dodge and Fond du lac County officials are assessing damage to roads and other infrastructure following this week’s flooding.  Dodge County Emergency Management director Amy Nehls says flooding washed out shoulders and left dirt and debris on roads.   Nehls says Highway 28 north of Theresa could be closed for a couple of days before the water recedes.  Nehls says the Juneau Airport reported just over four inches of rain overnight,  Tuesday into Wednesday with […]
