10-2-19 have coffee with u.s. senator ron johnson

Fond du Lac area residents can have coffee with U.S. Senator Ron Johnson.   Senator Johnson will be hosting a coffee clutch at Schreiner's Restaurant on Wednesday October 2 from 7-8am. According to a press release from the Republican Party of Fond du Lac County  the Senator will be taking questions in a relaxed and laid back atmosphere while having coffee and maybe a little breakfast.

10-2-19 drunk on riding mower

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin appeals court has ruled that operating a riding mower while drunk carries the same penalties as driving a car while intoxicated.  The ruling Tuesday came in the case of a northern Wisconsin man who was arrested for drunken driving in 2017. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers plans to change the date of the special election for an open congressional state after being alerted by the U.S. Department of Justice that the dates he set last week violated federal law.  The election is to replace Republican Sean Duffy, who resigned last week. 10-1-19 vehicle rollover in fdl

A portion of eastbound Military Road and Rolling Meadows Drive was closed this morning  following a traffic crash.  Shortly before 7:30am Tuesday Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue was called to the scene at Military Road just west of I-41.   One vehicle was on its side.  The driver was pinned inside the vehicle, but appeared to be uninjured.

10-1-19 lightning strikes fdl home

Nobody was injured and no damage was reported following an apparent lightning strike of a Fond du Lac home.   Around 6:30am Tuesday a  resident at 25 Champion Avenue called the fire department to report their house had been struck by lightning.  Fire chief Pete O’Leary says there was no damage to the house.
