11-25-19 feyen statement on evers veto of sex offender bill

todayNovember 23, 2019

MADISON- Today, Senator Feyen (R-Fond du Lac) and Representative Schraa (R-Oshkosh) released the following statements on Governor Evers’ veto of SB 60.

“Governor Evers seems more than happy to continue the practice of placing sexually violent offenders from Milwaukee and Dane Counties into the 18th Senate District and other rural areas of Wisconsin. This is yet another instance of the governor placing the needs of those two counties above the needs of the rest of the state.”- Senator Feyen

“This is a huge disappointment for my constituents and for me personally. This bipartisan bill made it clear that violent sex offenders who are being released from involuntary commitment are to be placed in the county they came from. Why would the governor decide that’s not a good idea? My constituents deserve answers.”- Representative Schraa
