11-6-19 slippery roads

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was busy responding to several crashes on slippery snow covered roads Wednesday morning.  The Sheriff’s Office says there were a total of 18 accidents, including four with injuries,  and 17 vehicle run-offs.  One of the crashes involved a Fond du Lac County Sheriff's squad that was parked on the side of Interstate 41 while the deputy was assisting the state patrol at a crash scene.

The Fond du Lac Salvation Army Warming Shelter has only been open for a few days and already the beds are starting to fill up.   Salvation Army Social Services director Ron Jacobson says ten people used the shelter Friday and Saturday night and 15 people on Sunday.   Jacobson says last year the shelter was open 151 nights, serving 144 adults.  Jacobson says mental health issues and alcohol and drug addiction are major factors in […]

11-6-19 beaver dam man sentenced to prison for 5th owi

A Beaver Dam man is going to prison after being convicted of his fifth drunken driving offense.    Sixty year old  Antonio Rodriguez Soto will spend two years in prison with an additional  four years of supervision.   According to a criminal complaint in June Soto blew through an intersection at Forest Road and County Highway DE,   hit a stop  sign, collided with a tree and continued an additional 50 ft. onto a residential property.  […]
