11-25-19 fitchburg man wanted in violent domestic incident may be in fdl area

Police say a man involved in a violent domestic abuse incident in Fitchburg this month may be hiding in the Fond du Lac area.   Police say 30-year-old Allen Artis, Jr. of Fitchburg faces multiple charges including first-degree reckless injury, substantial battery and false imprisonment.   Fitchburg Police say Artis is believed to have connections to the Fond du Lac area.  Police say Artis should be considered dangerous.  Anyone with information regarding Artis’ whereabouts is asked to […]

11-25-19 thanksgiving marketbasket survey

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s annual Thanksgiving market basket survey shows the price for a Thanksgiving meal this year remains relatively stable. Farm Bureau spokesperson Sarah Hetke says the survey of 15 popular Thanksgiving food items in 29 communities, including Fond du Lac, came in at $61.57 to serve ten people.    Hetke says the price for a 16 pound turkey was up $2.72 over last year.  The price of potatoes and green beans were down […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin wildlife officials say chronic wasting disease has spread to Dunn County.  The Department of Natural Resources said Friday that a wild deer killed during the 2019 archery season near Menomonie has tested positive for the disease. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Tony Evers has signed a bill that defines autocycles in state law and establishes registration fees for the vehicles.   Autocycles are three-wheeled vehicles that seat one or two people.  The Republican-authored bill defines autocycles as vehicles with three wheels in contact with the ground, seating that doesn’t require straddling and a steering wheel.
