Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue is crediting a  Good Samaritan with helping save two lives.   Shortly before 5:30am Thursday rescue personnel were called to 315 East Merrill Avenue for a report of two males passed out on the sidewalk and not responding.  An individual was driving on Merrill when she spotted two persons lying on the sidewalk.  She stopped and called 911. The unemployment rate declined or stayed the same in all of Wisconsin’s 12 metro areas and 68 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties last month .   In the city of Fond du Lac the October unemployment rate stands at 2.7 percent,  down from 2.9 percent in September.     The Fond du Lac County jobless rate dropped two tenths of a percent to 2.5 percent.   The unemployment rate was down a tenth of a percent in […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Tony Evers’ approval rating has dropped below 50% as the first-term Democrat continues to butt heads with the Republican-controlled Legislature.  The latest Marquette University Law School poll out Wednesday also shows the Legislature’s approval rating has dipped.  Evers’ approval rating was at 47% this month, compared with 52% in October. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Attorney General Josh Kaul says testing is finally finished on thousands of unanalyzed sexual assault evidence kits.  Kaul Wednesday testing was finished on all 4,471 kits designated for analysis. The state Justice Department started analyzing the kits in 2016.
