One man was transported to the hospital and another man is in custody following a stabbing incident at a Mayville tavern. Police say a 29 year old man was transported to UW Hospital in Madison for cuts to his head, neck and hands. A suspect was later found hiding in a chest freezer at his residence and taken into custody. The incident happened early Sunday morning.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
