Republican congressman Glenn Grothman says he believes the House will easily pass a new North American trade deal this week. Last week House Democrats and the White House announced agreement on a modified North American trade pact, handing president Donald Trump a major Capitol Hill win. “I’m glad president Trump got it done,” Grothman told WFDL news. “I have heard complaints back in my state legislative days forever, how did we get stuck with NAFTA?” Grothman says the revamped U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement is a significant improvement over the original North American Free Trade Agreement. Grothman says the new deal will benefit Wisconsin dairy farmers. “More markets for Wisconsin dairy and that’s what we need.”

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
