Republican congressman Glenn Grothman says he’s surprised that Democrats didn’t move to censure president Donald Trump instead of moving forward with impeachment. The House voted this month to impeach Trump setting up a trial in the Republican controlled senate. Grothman says censuring the president would have been a way for Democrats to express disapproval of the president’s conduct without removing him from office. The last president to be censured was in 1834 when the senate censured Andrew Jackson.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
