A new report finds that the number of police officers in Wisconsin's largest cities has declined over the past decade, while the violent crime rate has gone up. 12-12-19 nfdl man sentenced to life in prison for sexually assaulting child

A North Fond du Lac man convicted of sexually assaulting a child will spend the rest of his life in prison.   Fond  du Lac judge Dale English has sentenced 58 year old Ronald Shingleton to a total of 90 years in prison with 30 years of extended supervision on three counts of first degree sexual assault of a child.  A ten year prison sentence will run concurrent  on a charge of […]

12-13-19 fdl police investigating critical injuries to elderly woman

12-13-19 fdl council approves new bike share program

The Fond du Lac city council has approved a bike share program.  The council approved the resolution at their meeting this week for the agreement with Zagster that would enable the city, in partnership with Alliant Energy, to initiate the program.   Community Development director Dyann Benson says Alliant has offered to sponsor the bike share for two years.  After each year, ridership data  will be assessed to determine if its worthwhile to continue the program.  Bike […]

12-12-19 six arrested in sex trafficking case in green lake county

Six people have been arrested in Green Lake County for sex trafficking.  The  Green Lake County Sheriff's Office says they received a 911 call November 28 from a juvenile who said she had escaped from a residence where she was being sex trafficked.  Police executed a search warrant  W2964 County Line Road in  Manchester, Wisconsin, where they seized multiple items of evidence believed to be connected to the assault of the juvenile. As part of the ongoing investigation into the multistate outbreak of E. coli infections, Wisconsin health and food safety officials have found E. coli  bacteria in an unopened bag of pre-washed chopped romaine collected from an ill person’s home. PORTAGE, Wis. (AP) — Sheriff's officials say the death of an inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institution is under investigation.
