Authorities have released the names of the Wisconsin police officers who injured students in back-to-back high school shootings this week. The state Department of Justice said Oshkosh Police Officer Mike Wissink wounded a 16-year-old Oshkosh West High School student Tuesday after the boy stabbed him. Prosecutors have charged a Madison man with damaging the Wisconsin Supreme Court chambers. Court records show 26-year-old Timothy Binford was charged Monday with felony property damage and disorderly conduct. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — New data from the state Department of Natural Resources shows hunters killed dramatically fewer deer during Wisconsin’s nine-day gun season than last year. Preliminary figures show hunters killed 160,769 deer over the season that ended Sunday. That’s down 25% from 213,972 deer last year.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) — Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire have found microplastics in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness of northern Minnesota. The researchers say they found microplastics _ particularly fibers _ in water, soil and worms collected this summer. Microplastic fibers can shed from synthetic clothing and fabrics. But they also can spread by wind, rain and snow.
