Democratic Gov. Tony Evers is taking the unusual step of calling on the Legislature's Republican-controlled budget committee to meet this week and approve funding to combat homelessness. 12-17-19 mayville stabbing incident

One man was transported to the hospital and another man is in custody following a stabbing incident at a Mayville tavern.  Police say a 29 year old man was transported to UW Hospital in Madison for cuts to his head, neck and hands.  A suspect was later found hiding in a chest freezer at his residence and taken into custody.  The incident happened early Sunday morning.

12-17-19 firefighters extinguish fire in vacant house on allen street

Nobody was injured and one person was detained for questioning following a fire that caused minor damage to a vacant house in Fond du Lac.   Firefighters were called to the scene on Allen Street Monday afternoon for a report of smoke coming out of the house.  Fire chief Pete O’Leary tells WFDL news the fire caused minimal damage to some of the contents inside the house.  Police detained a man at the scene for […]

12-16-19 fire destroys vacant house in fdl

A fire that destroyed a vacant house in Fond du Lac early Saturday morning is under investigation.  Firefighters were called to 222 W. Arndt St. for a report of fire showing on  the back of the house and upon arrival encountered heavy fire on the rear of the building.  Firefighters battled and extinguished the fire, but not before the house experienced substantial damage.   A MABAS box alarm was initiated that brought in firefighters from surrounding communities.  Alliant […]

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers' top aide is warning Foxconn Technology Group that it won't collect any state incentives for its scaled-down factory in Wisconsin if it doesn't renegotiate the deal.
