Two sisters have been charged in connection with a high speed chase last month in Fond du Lac County. Twenty seven year old Jolena Sturdevant of Bonduel is charged with eluding, battery or threats to a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $10,000 cash. Bail was set at $2500 cash for her sister, Alexandria Sturdevant of Keshena, on charges of eluding and operating while revoked. A preliminary hearing for both is scheduled for January 10. The chase occurred last month on Interstate 41, ending when the vehicle ran over stop sticks that had been placed on the road.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
