The 5th Annual Rock River Bierfest will be held in Mayville on Saturday, January 25. The event features 18 Wisconsin brewers with over 50 ales, beers and IPA’s for tasting. Food is provided by local establishments and is included in the price of admission. The bierfest will be held at the Mayville Park Pavilion from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. General admission tickets are on sale at Mountain’s Piggly Wiggly in Mayville and on Evenbrite and from members of the Mayville Rotary Club for $30 and VIP tickets are $40. All tickets at the door are $5 more. All general admission and VIP ticket holders receive a commemorative glass. Designated driver tickets will be for sale at the door for $10. Proceeds from this event goes to projects and charity.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
