The Fond du Lac County Fairest of the Fair has been crowned the 2020 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair. The Wisconsin State Fair has announced that Cayley Vande Berg of Eldorado was selected out of a field of 36 contestants. Vande Berg is majoring in Dairy Science at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls and works at Milk Source’s Rosendale Dairy. She is not only part of the herd staff, but also works with the public relations team, giving tours and educating visitors. She has held leadership roles in 4-H and FFA, and has exhibited swine and dairy, along with vegetables, arts and crafts and more. In summer of 2019 she interned with Foremost Farms USA in the Member Services Department. Twenty year old Mikaila Falash, representing the Adams County Fair, was named first runner-up.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
