Fond du Lac area law enforcement is looking for a high speed chase suspect. Shortly before 10pm Tuesday a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy was unable to catch up to a vehicle speeding northbound on Interstate 41 in the area of Lost Arrow Road. The vehicle was observed a short while later in the city of Fond du Lac speeding southbound on Rolling Meadows Drive. The driver failed to pull over for a deputy and continued north onto Hickory Street. The chase was terminated in the area of Hickory Street. and Western Avenue, after covering approximately 3 miles.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
