A Ripon elementary school wants to expand its nature playground. The principal at Barlow Park Elementary/Journey Charter School says the plan to expand the playground to incorporate larger, permanent features has been in the works for more than a year. Principal Tanya Sanderfoot says many of the structures date back more than 25 years and are in need of replacement. One large structure was removed a couple of years ago after It broke, prompting the discussion of a nature playground.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
