1-6-20 empty bowls fundraiser-fdl

The 2019 Empty Bowls fundraiser raised over $8,000 in support of Fond du Lac area food pantries.   The event was held November 20 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center.     Five area food pantries will each receive a check for nearly $1700.   The event is designed to bring awareness to hunger in the community.

1-3-20 sisters charged in fdl county high speed chase

Two sisters have been charged in connection with a high speed chase last month in Fond du Lac County.  Twenty seven year old Jolena Sturdevant of Bonduel is  charged with eluding, battery or threats to a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct.  Bail was set at $10,000 cash.   Bail was set at $2500 cash for her sister,  Alexandria Sturdevant of Keshena,  on charges of eluding and operating while revoked.   A […]

SHAWANO, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin county board member is accused of choking one of his employees at this farm because the worker and a colleague overslept and missed the start of their shift. The Shawano County Sheriff's office said Peter A. Schmidt has been charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and felony strangulation and suffocation. Schmidt is a member of the county board. New research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety finds that long-term  use of advanced driver assistance technologies can result in more distracted driving.  AAA spokeswoman Molly Hart says drivers with experience using systems like  adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist were nearly twice as likely to engage in distracted driving while using the systems according to the study.  Hart tells WFDL news the new research suggests that as drivers gain more experience […]

Conservatives are asking a judge to find the Wisconsin Elections Commission in contempt for not immediately purging more than 200,000 voters from the rolls. A judge last month ordered the purge of voters who may have moved and didn't respond within 30 days to notification sent by the elections commission in October.
