1-27-20 dodge county traffic safety coordinator

Dodge County has a new traffic safety coordinator.  The Dodge County Board has approved the appointment of Scott Smith to the post.  The former Dodge County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy replaces Joel Kiesow, who retired after serving in the position since February of 2015.

Fond du Lac residents can get tax assistance at the Salvation Army.   Tax- Aide is a program sponsored by AARP & IRS that provides FREE  personal income tax assistance and FREE e-filing to low to moderate income taxpayers with emphasis on people over age 50.   Last year, the program filed 850 returns.   The first opportunities to schedule appointments for Tax-Aide services are Jan. 30 and 31 from  1:30 - 4 pm.  Appointments are […]

1-27-20 coffee with the superintendent

The Fond du Lac School superintendent is starting a monthly conversation with district residents.   Starting Friday January 31, Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert will be hosting “Coffee with the Superintendent.”    The goal is to invite residents to a casual monthly gathering to discuss school District issues.  The first event is scheduled for 9am next Friday - January 31 at the Aquatics Center building.

1-27-20 jury trial delayed for beaver dam man accused of murdering ex-wife

A  jury trial for a Beaver Dam man accused of murdering his ex-wife has been pushed back until June after the defendant changed his plea.   Ulisses Medina Espinosa changed his plea from not guilty, to not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect to first degree intentional homicide in the shooting death of Stacia Hollinshead.   According to a criminal complaint Espinosa shot the victim 15 times at a Beaver Dam […]

1-25-20 nfdl man jumps from third story fdl motel window

A Missouri man was flown by helicopter to a hospital after  jumping from the third story window of a Fond du Lac motel.  Fond du Lac police say  a  41-year-old Missouri man was hallucinating, and believed he was being attacked by dogs while he was in his hotel room and jumped to avoid the attack. 1-25-20 nfdl man charged in violent domestic incident

A North Fond du Lac man convicted of strangulation in a domestic incident a couple of years ago faces the same charge again with another woman.  Hayden Gieschen is charged with strangulation and suffocation and false imprisonment.   According to a criminal complaint in December Gieschen  grabbed the mother of his child around the neck and picked her up and threw her.   Later, he “placed his arms around her neck in a chokehold.”   In 2017 […]

1-24-20 convicted child sex offender relocated to fdl county

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a community notification for the relocation of a convicted child sex offender.  The Sheriff’s Office says 35 year old Jonathan Miller  has moved to a residence at  N 4141 County Highway E between Fairwater and Waupun.  Miller has previous juvenile adjudications for first degree sexual assault of a child when he was 14 and 16 years old.
