The Fond du Lac County Clerk says the tech troubles during the Iowa caucuses are another reason why Wisconsin doesn’t allow voting online. Glitches with a new mobile app are being blamed for a delay in reporting the results of the Iowa caucuses Monday night. Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says electronics and elections are always a concern. “I’m not very familiar with the app, but when I go and speak to people and they say to me why can’t we vote online? This is one of the reasons right here,” Freiberg told WFDL news. Freiberg says the problems in Iowa are also a reminder of why its important to thoroughly test a new system before putting it in place.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
