A Lomira man faces multiple charges after spitting on a police officer at a Super Bowl party. Jason Moore is charged with discharging bodily fluid, bail jumping, lewd behavior, resisting and disorderly conduct. Police were initially called to Moore’s house on Super Bowl Sunday for a domestic disturbance and when officers arrived Moore locked himself in his house. According to a criminal complaint Moore’s wife told police that Moore was drunk and had become argumentative with family members. When he was placed in a squad car he allegedly spit on a police officer. Bail was set at $5000 cash.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
