2-10-20 one person receives minor injuries in snowmobile crash on lake winnebago

One person received minor injuries in a snowmobile crash on Lake Winnebago.  It happened about 4:30pm Sunday about 50 yards from shore behind Sylvan Bay Road in the town of Calumet.    The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says a 19 year old Fond du Lac man was operating a snowmobile when it struck an ice shove.  The operator, and a passenger, a 20 year old Hales Corners woman,  were both tossed from […]

2-10-20 structure fire town of calumet

Nobody was injured in a structure fire in the town of Calumet.  Shortly before 9:30pm Saturday firefighters were called to the  Calumet Town Dump on Schoenborn Road.  The partially enclosed structure that houses a dumpster was destroyed.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

2-10-20 area residents digging out after biggest snowstorm of the season

A  major winter snowstorm dumped several inches of snow throughout Wisconsin Sunday resulting in slippery roads.  National Weather Service meteorologist Paul Collar says seven to ten inches of snow and even more than that were reported in some areas.  "We're looking at some areas seeing up toward ten inches of snow, especially the northern reaches of our forecast area, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan,"  Collar told WFDL news.   Collar says this […]

2-10-20 fire destroys building at auto recycling business in fdl county

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a building at an auto recycling business in Fond du Lac County.  At around 7:30pm Friday firefighters from several  departments were called to Kewaskum Auto Recyclers on Highway V in the town of Auburn.  The address consists of several buildings, one of which was on fire.  The owner said he was using a blow torch to remove portions of a vehicle inside one of the buildings.  When […]
