A Fond du Lac firefighter received a hero’s welcome as he returns home from a tour of duty in Afghanistan.  A welcome home ceremony was held Tuesday at the Main Street Fire Station for sergeant Brett Hefty.   Hefty recently completed an 18 month military deployment with the Wisconsin Army National Guard and says  its great to be home.  "I wanted to be deployed for a long time and I'm glad I got […]

MADISON, WIs. (AP) — A white lawmaker in Wisconsin has dropped a plan to acknowledge Black History Month by honoring white abolitionists. Republican state Rep. The Fond du Lac County Conservationist says clean-up following manure run-off from a town of Calumet farm is expected to take a while.  The runoff at the Loron Bock farm near Artesia Beach Road and Highway 151 was reported last week.   County Conservationist Paul Tollard says his office and the DNR are working with the farmer to monitor the cleanup.  Tollard says the fields are within a thousand feet of Lake Winnebago and farmers are […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Supreme Court says an attempt to recover a rare car that thieves smuggled from Milwaukee to Europe can continue. Court documents say thieves in Milwaukee stole a 1938 Talbot Lago in 2001. A company called TL90108 LLC bought the car in Switzerland in 2015 and it was shipped to Chicago.
