MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A bipartisan measure designed to lower the cost of prescription drugs in Wisconsin has cleared the state Assembly. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A website that voters in Wisconsin can use to find out where to vote was down for several hours Tuesday. The Wisconsin Elections Commission told voters Tuesday morning to use a backup website, www.gettothepolls.com, while they worked on the MyVote Wisconsin site. Alliant Energy has received reports from customers in Wisconsin including Fond du Lac about scam calls linked to the company.  The scammers, pretending to be employees, threaten to cut off power in a few hours unless a payment is made, according to a release by Alliant Energy.   Alliant Energy is reminding people that employees will never call customers demanding an immediate payment. 2-19-20 herb kohl foundation scholarship winners

The 2020 Herb Kohl Foundation awards for Wisconsin students, teachers and principals have been announced.    Student Excellence Scholars  include Lillian Wahl of St. Mary’s Springs Academy in Fond du Lac and Ripon High School senior Theodore Rauch.   Ripon High School’s Leah Carriveau is a Student Initiative Scholar.   Sabish Middle School teacher Wendy Kurkowski-Evans is a Teacher Fellowship recipient.  The winners will be recognized at award programs this spring.

2-19-20 convicted child sex offender released back into fdl community

A convicted child sex offender has been released back into the Fond du Lac community.    The Fond du Lac Police Department says  John Bunch, served 26-years in prison for first degree sexual assault of a child.  Bunch was convicted in 1993 of repeatedly sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl.  Bunch was previously convicted of False Imprisonment in 1985 in Kenosha County.  Special conditions of John D Bunch’s supervised release: 1) No contact with victims, no […]

2-18-20 fire destroys storage sheds

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed several storage units in Fond du Lac County.  Shortly after 11pm Monday firefighters from several departments were called to Barber Enterprises storage units in the town of  Friendship.  A passerby called the Communications Center and reported smoke coming from one of the storage units.
