A Fond du Lac woman was killed, and a Fond du Lac man was injured in a crash on an Illinois Interstate this week. Authorities say 82 year old Robin Francis of Fond du Lac was killed in the crash on I-55. She was a passenger in a car that struck a vehicle that had stopped on the road, and then struck a semi on the shoulder of the Interstate. The driver, 74 year old Richard Jaeger of Fond du lac, was injured in the crash.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
