The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a toddler in Lomira. Shortly before 7pm Friday the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a three-year-old child that had died at 725 Railroad Street in the Village of Lomira. The Lomira Police Department and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and requested the Dodge County Medical Examiner. The Lomira Police Department and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office are jointly investigating the death with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Wisconsin State Crime Lab. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says no further details are being released at this time.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
