ELLSWORTH, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin health officials say a second person in the state has tested positive for coronavirus, this time in Pierce County along the Minnesota border. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Pierce County Public Health Department said the person was exposed while traveling within the U.S. and is currently isolated at home. County officials are working to determine who many have had contact with the person. For most people, the new coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
