Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers made it easy for school superintendents who did not know what to do on Friday by ordering all public schools in the state to close in hopes of slowing the spread of the new coronavirus. The governor’s move affects nearly a million students and their families. Lomira school superintendent Bob Lloyd had already made the decision to go to online classes Monday. Lloyd says he believe students will still have a very meaningful educational experience. North Fond du Lac superintendent Aaron Sadoff says its the right thing to do. Evers decided to issue the order after state health officials announced that the number of confirmed infections in Wisconsin has more than doubled, from eight on Thursday to 19 on Friday. The number has since climbed to 27. State Department of Health Services Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk says the goal is to slow the spread so hospitals aren’t overwhelmed.
