todayMarch 17, 2020

Fond du Lac County Public Health officials are still waiting for results on 59 more Fond du lac County residents who are being tested for the coronavirus.   Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says those residents had some contact with at least one of nine residents who were on an Egyptian cruise that spawned a coronavirus outbreak.  “That would be amazing if we don’t have community spread but to me with the amount of people that we have positive in Fond du Lac County you would think that we would see some bit of community spread,”  Mueller told WFDL news.   Meanwhile, Mueller says there is also a list of another 40 individuals who the Department has identified as in need of testing for the virus and that list continues to grow.  Mueller says she is confident  that by eliminating large gatherings and through social distancing the virus can be slowed in the community.  Mueller’s advice for people who planned to attend St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.  “If it were me I wouldn’t be going out to a huge gathering with individuals unless you know every single one of them and their whereabouts and where they’ve been and how they’re physically feeling,”  Mueller said.   “I wouldn’t take that chance.”
