The Waupun Public Library, Senior Center and Community Center are closed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Waupun Emergency Management Director B.J. DeMaa says the preemptive measures were made to assist in reducing the spread of Covid-19. DeMaa says the buildings are closed until further notice. DeMaa says library officials are exploring the possibility of offering a curbside pick-up of library materials at some point in the future. Waupun city hall, the public safety building and DPW garage will remain open. The polls for the April 7 election will be open and staff are preparing safety precautions to conduct the election. Residents who wish to minimize contact with others are encouraged to vote by absentee ballot.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
